I have worked within the care industry for fourteen years. I began my career in care as a support worker when I was 18 years old. I soon realised that this was a career where I could happily devote my life. I spent some time working within an elderly care home and then moved onwards to working with individuals with learning disabilities and sensory impairments. Within that company I worked up through the roles from support worker to team leader to deputy manager within a home that achieved an outstanding CQC rating. This is one of my proudest achievements. I then found myself wanting to progress further in my career, improve my knowledge and make a bigger impact on the people I could support. For this reason, I moved back to elderly and dementia care as I believe it is a privilege to support people going through their last journey with pride and dignity. I have found my home within Trust Care and The Star Nursing Home and aim to continue to make a positive impact on the people we support.
I have earnt a level 3 in health and social care within adult care settings and have currently nearly completed my level 5. I have also completed a dementia course and hold a level one in British Sign Language.
Outside of work I have a four year old son who I love to take exploring wildlife and nature. I find myself more at peace surrounded by natural beauty. I love cooking and am very family orientated.
