disabilities and complex care needs.

The home provides care and accommodation for 4 (four) children or young people of either sex.
Each child or young person will have their own self-contained 2 (two) bedroom flat. The children and young people residing at Eden will be able to use the second bedroom as they wish, and it will have a bespoke design to meet their individual needs. Set in picturesque grounds, Eden has access to a grass area for outdoor games and garden with swing and trampoline. We specialise in providing accommodation for those children with complex needs who may be disabled or who have any additional needs or special characteristics. The home is capable of managing those children whose background includes neglect or abuse and those with emotional and behavioural difficulties who may be suited to a solo placement.

Our aim is to provide person-centred care that is effective, caring, reliable, consistent, responsive, and safe within a positive value-based service that is of outstanding quality through the empowerment of children and young people. We aim to form positive and meaningful relationships with our children and young people, by involving them in making informed choices through sharing information in an open and transparent manner.

We will continuously strive to create an environment that children and young people would choose to live in as an alternative lifestyle and support them to maintain or achieve their maximum potential for good health, well-being, and positive outcomes.

Words From The Manager

Katie possesses a wealth of experience working with children, young people, and vulnerable adults across various settings since 2009. Prior to her current role as Registered Manager for Eden, she served as a Deputy Manager in a 5-bed, Ofsted registered Children’s home specifically designed for children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Her commitment to supporting and caring for others also extends to her previous employment experiences as a support worker and team leader in the same children’s home.

In addition to her work with children, Katie has contributed her skills and expertise as a learning support worker in a specialized speech and language unit, catering to children aged 11 to 16. Her primary focus was on helping young individuals with diverse disabilities and learning difficulties achieve academic success and acquire essential life skills.

Katie firmly advocates the significance of maintaining both physical and mental health. For the past 11 years, she has operated her own fitness instruction business. Through this venture, Katie has emphasized inclusivity by delivering specialized fitness classes for individuals with physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties. These classes include chair-based exercises tailored to young people and adults aged 16 and above, particularly those who utilize wheelchairs or face mobility challenges.

Katie’s dedication to promoting inclusivity and group exercise demonstrates her commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can engage in fitness activities and improve their well-being.
