Badgers Lodge is a bungalow situated in the quiet residential area of Leigh on Sea. The local bus services run regularly and the bus stop is five minutes’ walk away from the home. The town centre is only two miles away. We also have links with the local churches should our service users wish to attend, they also visit on religious occasions bearing gifts.

Badgers Lodge is a 10 (Ten) bedded nursing home and has been tastefully refurbished to accommodate the needs of the Service Users and parking is available on site. Within the property there a specialist bath, spacious garden with sun shades, an activity room, sensory room and spacious lounge/dining area. The Bungalow remains on one level all areas are accessible by wheelchairs. Rooms are fitted with Ceiling hoists to comfortably transfer our services users from chair to bed. The service also has a wheelchair-accessible vehicle to transport service users to appointments and also for community Access.

The care and support we provide to our Service Users is comprehensive and caters for our service users with complex needs, it focusses on the uniqueness of the individual within a homely environment. We have a person-centred approach to each persons individuality and tailor care and support to meet individual needs. Our staff promote independence and the service users are encouraged to do things that they are able to do for themselves, maintaining skills they have accomplished.

Our residents require different textured diets and a choice of food is offered based on the known likes and dislikes and information gathered from people who know them best, such as families, advocates and friends. Our menu’s are changed seasonally in accordance with known likes and dislikes.

We have an open-door policy for family and friends to visit and spend quality time with their loved ones. We include their knowledge and wishes of the person within the care planning process and believe that listening and adjusting will ensure the optimum person centred care.

Effective care and support requires a multidisciplinary approach; therefore, we also work closely with a network of health and social care professionals to promote and maintain Service Users’ good health and well-being, these professionals include Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapist, Dietician and Respiratory team. We also have a visiting chiropodist, hairdresser and reflexologist who can be accessed by personal funds.

CQC Registration is Accommodation for person’s who require nursing or personal care. Our last CQC Inspection was rated Good in all areas and we are always learning and improving.

Badgers Lodge respects all cultures and holds events to cater for these. This enables our service users to experience different cultures. This also includes foods and customs from different cultures for a different experience.

Our staff are highly trained and the Company increases training based on the particular needs of the service users. We have been complimented on many occasions of our how caring our staff are.

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Shiny Joe has been promoted to National Operations Manager at Trust Care, effective Monday, 18th November 2024! Shiny’s journey with us began in 2012 as the Home Manager of The Star, where she transformed it into the county’s best nursing home, especially known for managing challenging behavior and complex clinical needs. In 2021, she became our Clinical Lead and Training Director, and now, she’s taking on this new, well-deserved role! With 32 years of experience in the care industry across both the independent and public sectors, Shiny brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position. She holds a degree in general nursing and midwifery, has completed management level NVQ level 5, and has served as a director of nursing for another organization. Since joining Trust Care in March 2012, she has continually expanded her professional development, maintaining her statutory training requirements and attending various courses. Shiny is also a qualified mentor and a sign-off mentor for nursing students, and she competently leads OSCE Training for overseas nurses. As National Operations Manager, Shiny will: Lead and support home managers to ensure top-notch care and nursing. Coordinate with healthcare professionals and ensure compliance with regulations. Manage staff, budgeting, and financial operations. Maintain high standards of care and help our homes achieve their goals within CQC requirements. Engage with relatives through regular meetings to ensure their voices are heard and their feedback is incorporated into our care plans. Shiny will also continue to be a key part of our clinical training and support for Focus Care Supported Living and Focus Home Care. Outside of work, Shiny is a very creative person who enjoys practical activities. She finds gardening calming and enjoys shopping in her downtime.
