Marlborough Lodge is situated in a quiet residential cul de sac within the town of St. Leonards-on-Sea. This 6 (Six) bedded care home has been tastefully refurbished to accommodate the needs of the Service Users. The home has six spacious bedrooms with full en-suite bathrooms, spacious patio with decking, a lovely garden, sensory cabin and a conservatory. The bedrooms are arranged over three floors, all having views overlooking the residential area.
The care and support we provide to our Service Users is comprehensive, it focusses on the uniqueness of the individual within a homely environment, with a person-centred approach which is Service User led.
We also promote and encourage independence and social integration by means of a range of social, educational and work-related activities within the local environment. All Service Users attend daily structured activities at various facilities within the home and community. Our Service Users are active as citizens, participating in community projects to keep our beaches clean and raising funds for various charities.
Our Service Users are involved in their meal planning, giving them a choice of freshly prepared nutritious home-made food, whilst abiding individual dietary needs. This is based on ‘The eat-well plate’ policy tool that defines the Government’s recommendations on the types and portions of food people need for a healthy and well-balanced diet.
Some of our Service Users attend college, active arts, traditional day services and gardening projects. Those Service Users with ‘green-fingers’ are thrilled to participate in gardening and growing vegetables. We are currently planning our seedling project to expand our existing vegetable patch to grow our own fresh in-house fruit and vegetables.
We are in walking distance of the lovely sea views and the local area has many parks for exercising and enjoying the scenery. Our Service Users enjoy the beautiful local reservoirs for fishing and recreation. There are a wide variety of social activities that our Service Users attend, such as Social clubs, Gyms, Swimming pools and even a local nightclub which is available to Service Users monthly.
We support and encourage individuals who chose to widen their experience to get involved with voluntary or paid work, e.g. in shops, animal sanctuaries and dog walking.
We have an open-door policy for family and friends to visit and get involved in the daily lives and activities of our Service Users.
Effective care and support require a multidisciplinary approach; therefore, we work closely with a network of health and social care professionals to promote and maintain Service Users’ good health and well-being.
The transport links are excellent, the local bus services runs regularly and the bus stop is one minute’s walk away from the home for Service User convenience. The town centre is only two miles away. Although we supply a company motor vehicle, we encourage our Service Users to use public transport to encourage independence. There are also direct rail links to London from nearby rail services.
